These are the Code Cylinders or some time is called Arm Tools. Mostly worn in the left side sleeve upper pockets by pilots.
The head cylinder is CNC machines from solid stock aluminum and then pressed fit into the tubing body. They are very light weight. Finished cylinders are polished and anodized. Very durable for everyday trooping.
